What subscribers receive
Short emails on the same subjects as the site: project guides and build walkthroughs, notes on tools and materials, permit and foundation basics, and occasional recommendations for products, plan sets and courses we think are worth the money.
Recommendation emails contain affiliate links, and they say so. If you buy through one we earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
How often
Usually one or two emails a week. Occasionally three. We do not send daily, and we do not go silent for months and then blast — a steady, predictable cadence is better for you and better for us.
How addresses are collected
One way only: you typed your email address into a form on this website and submitted it.
At the moment you submit, we record the date and time, the IP address the submission came from, the exact page URL you submitted from, and the version of the consent wording shown to you on that page. That record exists so that we can always answer the question "how did this address get here?" with a fact rather than an assumption.
What we never do: we do not buy, rent, trade, scrape or import mailing lists, and we never add an address that did not come from one of our own forms. We do not add an address because someone else typed it in for a friend.
How to unsubscribe
Three routes, all of which work:
- One-click unsubscribe. Every email carries an unsubscribe link in the footer and an unsubscribe header your mail app can act on. One click, no login, no confirmation step, no survey.
- Reply to any email and say so.
- Write to questions@diyhomewarrior.com from any address.
Unsubscribes are honored immediately and permanently. The address is recorded on a suppression list that is checked before every send, and it is never re-added — not by a later import, not by a new list, not by another one of our sites.
If you would rather we delete what we hold about you entirely rather than suppress it, say so and we will, subject to the record-keeping described in the Privacy Policy.
What we do with your address
We email you. We do not sell it, rent it, trade it, or hand it to other advertisers. It is stored on our own systems and passed to the vendors who physically deliver the mail, which is all set out in the Privacy Policy.
Bounces and complaints
If your mail server rejects a message permanently, we stop sending to that address automatically. If you mark one of our emails as spam, we suppress the address on the spot rather than trying to win you back. We would rather lose a subscriber than annoy one.
Mail is sent from hello@diyhomewarrior.com.
